Power generation, transmission and distribution

Our experience covers steam/gas turbines and reciprocating engines using fuels such as biomass, biogas, fossil and non-fossil liquid fuel, either as stand-alone generation or combined heat and power installations for universities, hospitals, industrial applications or sale of electricity to the grid/private wire systems.

Our consultants have provided technical advice in connection with projects ranging from 1 to 800 MW.

Grid connection

Connection to the grid transmission network is a complex area and varies significantly between the distributed network operators (DNOs). We have undertaken many projects involving connection to the grid system and private wire systems. Our consultants are familiar with the technical issues and commercial aspects of connecting to transmission systems and provide advice on this key aspect as early as the pre-feasibility stage of a development, to avoid the risk of unexpected costs arising at a later stage of the project.

Grants and levies

Our consultants are conversant with various government schemes (e.g. enhanced capital allowance, low carbon building, etc) available to support the continuing development of renewable energy schemes.

Our consultants therefore have an in-depth knowledge of ROCs/NFFO, CCL/LECs, EU-ETS/NAP, JI/CDM/CERs, etc.

Combined heat and power

If the heat and electrical load profiles are suitable, CHP can offer the benefits of significantly improving energy utilisation and reducing operating costs. We have designed and project managed the installation of a number of CHP power stations, ranging from 0.5 to 7.5 MW.

Our company is a recognised industry leader in CHP design.

Energy audit and carbon footprinting

We work with the Carbon Trust and have conducted a number of energy audits to help clients to reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint.

Our consultants strive to provide our clients with simple but cost effective solutions to reduce energy use and minimise energy costs.

Due diligence prior to public listing/sale/acquisition

We have wide experience of providing technical due diligence during preparation for project financing and in connection with the sale or acquisition of assets, including assessment of potential risks connected with technology, construction, operation and the environment.

Our consultants have conducted many of such assignments for various AIM Nominated Advisors, Institutional Clients and Private Companies.
